Stroll through four acres of lawn, woodland and garden
on the Burghfield grounds.
The Burghfield
is privileged to have the service of Robbie Mackay who has been
Head Gardener for as long as the Curries' can remember. He applies
tender loving care to the 4.5 acres of lawn, woodland and vegetable
garden. His green fingers work miracles on flowers of all kinds,
which fill the rooms with fragrance and colour.
Hanging baskets decorate the path up to the main hotel entrance
at eye level, with wall boxes below. Sculptured flower beds grace
the lawns.
When you take a walk round the back of the hotel, you see the results
of Robbie's hard work in row upon row of vegetables including potatoes,
carrots, cabbages, cauliflower, onions, leeks, lettuces, beetroot
and turnip. If you are lucky enough to come in July when the strawberries
are in season, prepare your taste buds for the treat of a lifetime!
